The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the La Porte Slicers (La Porte, IN) and the visiting Hobart Brickies (Hobart, IN), observed La Porte's softball team get by Hobart by a tally of 8-7.

The Slicers (8-12) will now prepare for their bout against South Bend Riley (South Bend, IN). The Wildcats go into the non-league bout with a 8-9 record. In their last bout, South Bend Riley was nipped by South Bend Saint Joseph (South Bend, IN), 14-0, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Brickies clash with the Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors (Hammond, IN) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, May 9. Hobart will attempt to advance on its 5-13 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 5-8 record after their 12-2 non-league win over Hammond Academy of Science & Tech (Hammond, IN).
