The Mt. Vernon Rams the host Triad Knights softball squad by a count of 7-4 in Friday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Rams meet the Belleville West Maroons (Belleville, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, May 9. Mt. Vernon will attempt to upgrade on its 16-5 season record. The Maroons go into the challenge with a 12-11 record after their 2-1 league win over Alton (Alton, IL).
