Virginia High School Soccer - Rural Retreat toppled by John Battle
May 9, 2025: Bristol, VA 24202 John Battle Trojans (Bristol, VA) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Rural Retreat Indians (Rural Retreat, VA), 9-1 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, John Battle moves its record to 10-7 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Union (Big Stone Gap, VA) to meet the Bears in a Mountain 7 test on Wednesday, May 14. The Bears come into the test with a record of 2-10. Union lost 6-1 in their recent league test against Gate City (Gate City, VA)
The Indians now sport a 0-13 record. They take the field next when they host Honaker for a Hogoheegee test on Monday, May 12. Rural Retreat will meet a Tigers team coming off a 6-0 non-league loss to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA). The Tigers record now stands at 6-6.
