In Friday's non-league match, the host Ray Ray Jays softball team scored a tight 3-2 victory over the Carrington Cardinals.

The Ray Jays (9-1) will now prepare for their match against Nedrose (Minot, ND). The Cardinals go into the non-league match with a 5-7 record. In their last match, Nedrose was nipped by Harvey (Harvey, ND), 14-4, in a league match.

Next up, the Cardinals face the Northern Cass Jaguars (Hunter, ND) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, May 10. Carrington will attempt to improve on its 7-5 season record. The Jaguars enter the contest with a 3-6 record after their 16-8 league loss to Enderlin (Enderlin, ND).
