Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish (Kankakee, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Fightin' Irish now sport a 17-9 record. They take the field next when they host Clifton Central for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, June 2. Bishop McNamara will face a Comets squad coming off a 11-3 non-league loss to Wilmington (Wilmington, IL). The Comets record now stands at 9-9.

With the loss, Shepard falls to 16-6 on the campaign.
