Iowa High School Softball - Van Meter bounces Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont
June 15, 2024: Eddyville, IA 52553 Van Meter Bulldogs (Van Meter, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Rockets (Eddyville, IA), 9-2 in a non-league challenge.
The Bulldogs now own a 23-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Twin Cedars for a non-league challenge on Monday, June 17. Van Meter will face a Sabers squad coming off a 14-0 non-league win over Moulton-Udell (Moulton, IA). The Sabers record now stands at 10-5.
With the loss, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont falls to 11-9 on the campaign. The Rockets travel to Albia (Albia, IA) to face the Blue Demons in a South Central challenge on Monday, June 17. The Blue Demons enter the challenge with a record of 9-8. Albia won 5-0 in their recent non-league challenge against West Burlington (West Burlington, IA)
