The Amherst County Lancers softball team scored 6 runs and held the host Salem Spartans to 4 in the Lancers non-league win on Monday.

The Lancers now sport a 14-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jefferson Forest for a non-league battle on Wednesday, June 4. Amherst County will confront a Cavaliers team coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Halifax County (South Boston, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 17-1.

With the loss, Salem moves to 17-5 on the season.
