June 20, 2024: Sioux Rapids, IA 50585 Spectators at Thursday's league match between the Sioux Central Rebels (Sioux Rapids, IA) and the visiting Newell-Fonda Mustangs (Newell, IA), witnessed Sioux Central's softball squad tip Newell-Fonda by a count of 6-5.
The Rebels now sport a 16-5 record. They play next when they host Alta-Aurelia for a Twin Lakes match on Monday, June 24. Sioux Central will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Ridge View (Holstein, IA). The Warriors record now stands at 4-13.
With the loss, Newell-Fonda moves to 19-6 on the season. The Mustangs host Le Mars (Le Mars, IA) to meet the Bulldogs in a non-league match on Friday, June 21. The Bulldogs go into the match with a record of 13-10. Le Mars lost 4-2 in their recent non-league match against Sioux City East (Sioux City, IA)
