June 21, 2025: Eldon, IA 52554 Columbus Wildcats (Columbus Junction, IA) backers left the game pleased Saturday as they saw their softball squad nudge the host Cardinal Comets (Eldon, IA), 8-5 in a non-league game.
With the triumph, Columbus upgrades its record to 8-7 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Keokuk (Keokuk, IA) to play the Chiefs in a non-league game on Saturday, June 21. The Chiefs enter the game with a record of 2-16. Keokuk lost 16-4 in their recent league game against Fort Madison (Fort Madison, IA)
The Comets now own a 6-11 record. They play next when they host Chariton for a South Central game on Monday, June 23. Cardinal will play a Chargers squad coming off a 10-2 league win over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (Eddyville, IA). The Chargers record now stands at 11-3.
