June 24, 2023: Fort Dodge, IA 50501 Fort Dodge Dodgers (Fort Dodge, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Dodgers now own a 21-6 record. They take the field next when they host Marshalltown for a non-league challenge on Monday, June 26. Fort Dodge will battle a Bobcats squad coming off a 14-4 non-league loss to Urbandale (Urbandale, IA). The Bobcats record now stands at 5-20.
With the loss, Mt. Vernon falls to 20-8 on the campaign. The Mustangs host South Tama County (Tama, IA) to battle the Trojans in a non-league challenge on Monday, June 26. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 0-18. South Tama County lost 13-1 in their recent non-league challenge against North Tama (Traer, IA)
