Iowa High School Baseball - Winterset sneaks past Newton
June 27, 2025: Winterset, IA 50273 In Friday's non-league game, the host Winterset Huskies baseball team scored a close 5-4 victory over the Newton Cardinals.
The Huskies (12-10) will now prepare for their game against North Polk (Alleman, IA). The Comets enter the Raccoon River game with a 13-11 record. In their last game, North Polk was tipped by Sergeant Bluff-Luton (Sergeant Bluff, IA), 7-5, in a non-league game.
Next, the Cardinals face the Bettendorf Bulldogs (Bettendorf, IA) in a non-league game, on Saturday, June 28. Newton will attempt to improve on its 4-22 season record. The Bulldogs enter the game with a 17-9 record after their 14-1 non-league win over Clinton (Clinton, IA).
