Iowa High School Softball - Van Meter bounces North Union
June 27, 2026: Armstrong, IA 50514 The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Van Meter Bulldogs (Van Meter, IA) and the host North Union Mustangs (Armstrong, IA), observed Van Meter's softball team prevail over North Union by a tally of 12-0.
The Bulldogs (24-3) will now prepare for their bout against Prairie City-Monroe (Monroe, IA). The Mustangs go into the non-league bout with a 18-3 record. In their last bout, Prairie City-Monroe knocked off Grinnell (Grinnell, IA), 6-1, in a non-league bout.
In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Lake Mills Bulldogs (Lake Mills, IA) in a Top of Iowa-West bout, on Monday, June 29. North Union will attempt to advance on its 20-9 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 3-16 record after their 13-3 league loss to Garner-Hayfield/Ventura (Garner, IA).
