Iowa High School Softball - Van Meter nudges Saydel
June 29, 2023: Des Moines, IA 50313 The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Van Meter Bulldogs (Van Meter, IA) and the host Saydel Eagles (Des Moines, IA), saw Van Meter's softball squad nip Saydel by a count of 8-7.
The Bulldogs now sport a 31-5 record. They take the field next when they host Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center for a non-league match on Wednesday, July 5. Van Meter will face a squad coming off a 12-0 non-league win over Southwest Valley (Corning, IA). The record now stands at 7-12.
With the loss, Saydel falls to 19-5 on the campaign. The Eagles host Southeast Valley (Gowrie, IA) to face the Jaguars in a non-league match on Friday, June 30. The Jaguars enter the match with a record of 12-8. Southeast Valley lost 9-4 in their recent non-league match against Emmetsburg (Emmetsburg, IA)
