Colorado High School Baseball - Greeley West can't hold off Northridge
June 3, 2021: Greeley, CO 80634 In Thursday's non-league game, the host Northridge Grizzlies baseball team scored a tight 1-0 victory over the Greeley West Spartans.
The Grizzlies (6-5) will now prepare for their game against Mountain View (Loveland, CO). The Mountain Lions go into the non-league game with a 5-7 record. In their last game, Mountain View was edged by Silver Creek (Longmont, CO), 13-9, in a non-league game.
The Spartans (5-8) will now prepare for their game against Fort Morgan (Fort Morgan, CO). The Mustangs go into the non-league game with a 7-5 record. In their last game, Fort Morgan was edged by Holy Family (Broomfield, CO), 9-6, in a non-league game.
Game Summary
Northridge pitcher Parker Steckel throws a no-hitter against cross town rival Greeley West as the Grizzlies defeat West 1-0 in a game that is is only one hour and twenty minutes long. Parker had a perfect game going into the top of the 6th. He hit the first batter in the 6th and after the runner stoled 2nd and 3rd Parker struck out 3 hitters in a row to get out of the only trouble he had all day. Parker struck out 11 Spartan hitters in the game. The Grizzlies only get 2 hits in the game as Jace Reid singled in the 5th to break up the no-hitter bid by the Greeley West pitcher. In the 6th Mark Felix-llamas doubled for the other Grizzly hit. In the 5th Northridge gets its only run as the the first 2 hitters walk, after a fielders choice and a single with the bases loaded Justus Alcala was hit by a pitch for a RBI for the Grizzlies only run. Northridge improves to 6-5 with the non-league win.
