June 30, 2023: West Liberty, IA 52776 The crowd at Friday's non-league match between the Valley Tigers (Elgin, IA) and the host West Liberty Comets (West Liberty, IA), saw Valley's softball squad nip West Liberty by a count of 7-4.
The Tigers now sport a 15-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pleasant Valley for a non-league match on Saturday, July 1. Valley will clash with a Spartans team coming off a 9-4 non-league loss to Northwest (Waukee, IA). The Spartans record now stands at 25-8.
The Comets (16-11) will now prepare for their test against Charles City (Charles City, IA). The Comets come into the non-league test with a 15-12 record. In their last test, Charles City edged Waukon (Waukon, IA), 5-0, in a non-league test.
