June 7, 2024: Mt. Vernon, IA 52314 The Mt. Vernon Mustangs the visiting Interstate 35 Roadrunners softball squad by a count of 3-0 in Friday's non-league battle.
The Mustangs (16-2) will now prepare for their battle against Clear Creek-Amana (Tiffin, IA). The Clippers go into the non-league battle with a 8-4 record. In their last battle, Clear Creek-Amana nudged Indianola (Indianola, IA), 4-2, in a non-league battle.
The Roadrunners now sport a 2-6 record. They play next when they travel to Keokuk for a non-league battle on Saturday, June 8. Interstate 35 will meet a Chiefs squad coming off a 10-3 non-league loss to Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, IA). The Chiefs record now stands at 4-2.
