Iowa High School Softball - Monticello bounces South Winneshiek
June 7, 2024: Monticello, IA 52310 Monticello Panthers (Monticello, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting South Winneshiek Warriors (Calmar, IA), 9-5 in a non-league challenge.
The Panthers now own a 3-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Maquoketa Valley for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, June 11. Monticello will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over East Buchanan (Winthrop, IA). The Wildcats record now stands at 11-5.
With the loss, South Winneshiek falls to 4-8 on the campaign. The Warriors host West Central (Maynard, IA) to battle the Blue Devils in a Upper Iowa challenge on Monday, June 10. The Blue Devils enter the challenge with a record of 1-5. West Central won 8-7 in their recent league challenge against North Fayette Valley (West Union, IA)
