June 7, 2025: Maquoketa, IA 52060 South Winneshiek Warriors (Calmar, IA) supporters left the game pleased Saturday as they saw their softball squad nudge the host Maquoketa Cardinals (Maquoketa, IA), 7-3 in a non-league game.
With the triumph, South Winneshiek improves its record to 2-7 on the year. The Warriors travel to West Central (Maynard, IA) to play the Blue Devils in a Upper Iowa game on Monday, June 9. The Blue Devils enter the game with a record of 0-6. West Central lost 20-1 in their recent non-league game against New Hampton (New Hampton, IA)
The Cardinals now hold a 5-9 record. They play next when they host Beckman for a non-league game on Thursday, June 12. Maquoketa will play a Trailblazers squad coming off a 8-0 non-league win over Vinton-Shellsburg (Vinton, IA). The Trailblazers record now stands at 5-6.
