June 8, 2024: Huxley, IA 50124 The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Martensdale-St. Mary's Blue Devils (Martensdale, IA) and the host Ballard Bombers (Huxley, IA), saw Martensdale-St. Mary's's softball squad nip Ballard by a count of 8-3.
The Blue Devils now sport a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they host Central Decatur for a non-league match on Tuesday, June 11. Martensdale-St. Mary's will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 17-7 non-league win over Moulton-Udell (Moulton, IA). The Cardinals record now stands at 3-7.
With the loss, Ballard falls to 5-9 on the campaign. The Bombers travel to North Polk (Alleman, IA) to face the Comets in a Raccoon River match on Monday, June 10. The Comets enter the match with a record of 16-2. North Polk won 5-0 in their recent non-league match against Clear Creek-Amana (Tiffin, IA)
