Iowa High School Softball - Iowa Valley nudges Columbus
June 8, 2024: Marengo, IA 52301 Iowa Valley Tigers (Marengo, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Columbus Wildcats (Columbus Junction, IA), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.
The Tigers now own a 6-6 record. They take the field next when they host B-G-M for a South Iowa Cedar challenge on Monday, June 10. Iowa Valley will battle a Bears squad coming off a 15-1 non-league win over Winfield-Mt. Union (Winfield, IA). The Bears record now stands at 8-5.
With the loss, Columbus falls to 1-11 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to New London (New London, IA) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Monday, June 10. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 1-7. New London won 9-5 in their recent league challenge against Danville (Danville, IA)
