Iowa High School Softball - Mt. Vernon edged by Western Dubuque
July 5, 2024: Epworth, IA 52045 Western Dubuque Bobcats (Epworth, IA) supporters left the game thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA), 1-0 in a non-league game.
With the triumph, Western Dubuque improves its record to 11-3 on the year. The Bobcats travel to Bettendorf (Bettendorf, IA) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league game on Wednesday, July 10. The Bulldogs enter the game with a record of 16-15.
The Mustangs now hold a 30-11 record. They play next when they host Union for a non-league game on Thursday, July 11. Mt. Vernon will play a Knights squad coming off a 9-1 non-league loss to Vinton-Shellsburg (Vinton, IA). The Knights record now stands at 4-19.
