Iowa High School Baseball - Mt. Vernon holds off Fairfield
July 7, 2025: Mt. Vernon, IA 52314 The Mt. Vernon Mustangs baseball team scored 7 runs and held the visiting Fairfield Trojans to 3 in the Mustangs non-league win on Monday.
The Mustangs now hold a 17-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mt. Pleasant for a non-league test on Tuesday, July 8.
With the defeat, Fairfield drops to 19-8 on the season. The Trojans travel to Pella (Pella, IA) to confront the Dutch in a non-league contest on Monday, July 7. The Dutch come into the contest with a record of 21-6. Pella won 12-3 in their recent non-league contest against A-D-M (Adel, IA)
