August 14, 2024: Independence, KY 41051 Simon Kenton Pioneers (Independence, KY) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Grant County Braves (Dry Ridge, KY), 5-0 in a league test.
With the triumph, Simon Kenton moves its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to South Oldham (Crestwood, KY) to meet the Dragons in a non-league test on Saturday, August 17. The Dragons come into the test with a record of 1-0. South Oldham won 8-0 in their recent non-league test against Ballard (Louisville, KY)
The Braves now sport a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they host Villa Madonna for a non-league test on Monday, August 19. Grant County will meet a Vikings team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Roger Bacon (Cincinnati, OH). The Vikings record now stands at 0-2.
