Gregory-Portland Wildcats (Portland, TX) backers were pleased Thursday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the host Los Fresnos Falcons (Los Fresnos, TX), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats (2-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Edinburg (Edinburg, TX). The Bobcats come into the non-league challenge with a 0-1 record. In their last challenge, Edinburg was nudged by Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next up, the Falcons face the Edinburg Bobcats (Edinburg, TX) in a non-league game, on Friday, August 15. Los Fresnos will attempt to advance on its 1-3 season record. The Bobcats go into the game with a 0-3 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to McAllen (McAllen, TX).
