Texas High School Volleyball - Temple over Lubbock
August 14, 2025: Temple, TX 76504 Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Temple Wildcats (Temple, TX) and the visiting Lubbock Westerners (Lubbock, TX), observed Temple's volleyball team top Lubbock by a count of 2-0.
The Wildcats (3-1) will now prepare for their battle against Ryan (Denton, TX). The Raiders go into the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Ryan dropped by South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie, TX), 3-1, in a non-league battle.
The Westerners now own a 0-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bridgeport for a non-league battle on Friday, August 15. Lubbock will encounter a Bulls squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Saginaw (Saginaw, TX). The Bulls record now stands at 1-3.
Match Summary
Out from West Texas Lubbock High made a showing in the Denton Ryan Tourney. In its final match of the night closing out the first day of pool play Temple found their stride as the Tem-Cats would take care of Lubbock in two quick straight sets. The Tem-Cats took advantage of quick play and aggressive hitting in the victory. With the victory over Lubbock Temple would do well enough to finish 2nd over all in their pool play day 1. The second round begins tomorrow with @ 9:00am as the Tem-Cats will look to improve their record and take a run in Bracket play on Sat.
