The South Mecklenburg Sabres held off the visiting Independence Patriots volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Sabres now have a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Providence for a non-league test on Thursday, August 17.
