In Tuesday's non-league contest, the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) volleyball squad nudged the host Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC), by a margin of 3-2.

Next up, the Warriors battle the Cox Mill Chargers (Concord, NC) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, August 16. Weddington will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record. The Chargers go into the contest with a 0-1 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC).
