Merritt Island Christian Cougars (Merritt Island, FL) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Academy at the Lakes Wildcats (Land O' Lakes, FL), 38-14 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Merritt Island Christian upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Ocala Christian (Ocala, FL) to meet the Crusaders in a non-league test on Friday, August 22. The Crusaders come into the test with a record of 0-1. Ocala Christian lost 40-14 in their recent non-league test against Bradenton Christian (Bradenton, FL)
