August 15, 2025: Aberdeen, SD 57401 Fans at Friday's league battle between the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles (Aberdeen, SD) and the visiting Pierre T.F. Riggs Governors (Pierre, SD), saw Aberdeen Central's soccer squad hold off Pierre T.F. Riggs by a count of 2-1.
The Golden Eagles (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Jefferson (Sioux Falls, SD). The Cavaliers enter the non-league battle with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Jefferson nipped Roosevelt (Sioux Falls, SD), 4-0, in a non-league match.
The Governors now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brookings for a match on Saturday, August 16.
