August 16, 2025: Hunting Valley, OH 44022 In Saturday's non-league outing, the visiting Avon Lake Shoremen soccer squad scored a tight 3-1 victory over the University School Preppers.
The Shoremen (1-0) will now prepare for their test against Rocky River (Rocky River, OH). The Pirates come into the non-league test with a 0-0 record. In their last test, Rocky River Fairview (Fairview Park, OH), 0-0, in a non-league test.
The Preppers now have a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they host Gilmour Academy for a non-league test on Thursday, August 21. University School will clash with a Lancers team coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Solon (Solon, OH). The Lancers record now stands at 0-2.
Match Summary
Shoremen dominated the game from the 1st whistle. Avon Lake's speed of play was too much for University School. AL was comfortable at the end of the first half with a 2-0 lead. Quickly into the 2nd half the Shoremen scored again and began to cruise keeping possession for a large portion of the half.
