Spectators at Saturday's non-league contest between the Alva Goldbugs (Alva, OK) and the visiting Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish (Oklahoma City, OK), saw Alva's softball squad topple Bishop McGuinness by a score of 9-0.

With the triumph, Alva improves its record to 7-3 on the year. The Goldbugs host Enid (Enid, OK) to face the Plainsmen in a non-league contest on Saturday, August 16. The Plainsmen enter the contest with a record of 4-0. Enid won 10-1 in their recent non-league bout against Stratford (Stratford, OK)

In their next game, the Fighting Irish battle the Mount St. Mary Rockets (Oklahoma City, OK) in a non-league bout, on Monday, August 18. Bishop McGuinness will attempt to better on its 2-5 season record.
