Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Black River Pirates (Sullivan, OH) and the host Fairview Warriors (Fairview Park, OH), observed Black River's volleyball team top Fairview by a tally of 3-1.

The Pirates (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Lake Ridge Academy (North Ridgeville, OH). The Royals enter the non-league contest with a 0-0 record.

The Warriors now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Normandy for a non-league test on Thursday, August 21.
