Texas High School Volleyball - George West edged by Zapata
August 18, 2023: Zapata, TX 78076 The Zapata Hawks held off the visiting George West Longhorns volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Friday's non-league test.
The Hawks now have a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jones for a non-league test on Saturday, August 19. Zapata will confront a Trojans team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Woodsboro (Woodsboro, TX). The Trojans record now stands at 10-3.
The Longhorns (6-5) will now prepare for their test against Edcouch-Elsa (Edcouch, TX). The Yellowjackets enter the non-league test with a 1-2 record. In their last test, Edcouch-Elsa was nudged by Edinburg (Edinburg, TX), 3-0, in a non-league test.
