August 19, 2024: Williamsburg, KY 40769 Wayne County Cardinals (Monticello, KY) backers exited the stadium pleased Monday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the host Whitley County Colonels (Williamsburg, KY), 3-1 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Wayne County advances its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Southwestern (Somerset, KY) to clash with the Warriors in a non-league test on Tuesday, August 27. The Warriors come into the test with a record of 0-0.
The Colonels now have a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pulaski County for a non-league test on Thursday, August 22. Whitley County will clash with a Maroons team coming off a 1-0 non-league win over North Laurel (London, KY). The Maroons record now stands at 2-0.
