Ohio High School Volleyball - Avon overwhelmed by Northview
August 20, 2022: Avon, OH 44011 In Saturday's non-league battle, the visiting Northview Wildcats volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Avon Eagles.
The Wildcats (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Liberty-Benton (Findlay, OH). The Eagles come into the non-league battle with a 1-0 record.
Next, the Eagles clash with the Avon Lake Shoremen (Avon Lake, OH) in a Southwestern battle, on Tuesday, August 23. Avon will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record. The Shoremen come into the battle with a 1-0 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Brunswick (Brunswick, OH).

AVON - In the first match of the 2022 season, Northview (1-0) defeated Avon in a straight set sweep, 25-20, 25-14, 25-22. A total team effort by Northview in only the second meeting between these two schools.
Leading for Northview was senior outside hitter, Kamryn Hunt with a team-high 15 kills, hitting .205, 17 digs (her 1st double-double), 1 block and 2 aces. Also stepping up in a huge roll for the Wildcats was Sydney Hires, senior outside hitter, with 12 kills, hitting .207 and contributing 11 digs (her 1st double-double); Natalie Kerchevall, junior setter/opposite, with 7 kills, hitting .235, a team-high 23 assists and team-high 2 blocks; and Claire Smith, junior middle blocker, with 5 kills, hitting .333. Leading the defense was junior libero, Jordyn Pakulski with a team-high 19 digs.
