August 21, 2025: Dayton, OH 45417 The Hughes BIG RED football squad scored 20 points and limited the host Dunbar Wolverines to 0 in the BIG RED non-league triumph on Thursday.
The BIG RED now have a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mt. Healthy for a non-league game on Friday, August 29. Hughes will face a Fighting Owls team coming off a 42-7 non-league loss to West Clermont (Cincinnati, OH). The Fighting Owls record now stands at 0-1.
With the defeat, Dunbar drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Wolverines travel to Big Walnut (Sunbury, OH) to clash with the Golden Eagles in a non-league outing on Friday, August 29. The Golden Eagles go into the battle with a record of 0-1. Big Walnut lost 37-15 in their recent non-league battle against Bishop Watterson (Columbus, OH)
