Smiths Station Panthers (Smiths, AL) fans went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Shaw Raiders (Columbus, GA), 24-0 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Smiths Station improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Panthers host Valley (Valley, AL) to play the Rams in a non-league match on Friday, August 29. The Rams come into the match with a record of 1-0. Valley won 20-14 in their recent non-league match against Glenwood (Phenix City, AL)

Coming up next, the Raiders meet the Athens Academy Spartans (Athens, GA) in a non-league match, on Friday, August 29. Shaw will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Spartans go into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 28-0 non-league win over Savannah Country Day (Savannah, GA).
