Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the visiting Berkmar Patriots (Lilburn, GA), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Monroe Area improves its record to 5-11 on the season. The Purple Hurricanes host Apalachee (Winder, GA) to face the Wildcats in a non-league test on Thursday, August 21. The Wildcats go into the test with a record of 3-2.

The Patriots now own a 3-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cedar Grove for a non-league test on Tuesday, August 26. Berkmar will face a Saints squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Miller Grove (Lithonia, GA). The Saints record now stands at 4-9.
