The crowd at Thursday's non-league contest between the Kings Mountain Mountaineers (Kings Mountain, NC) and the visiting Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC), witnessed Kings Mountain's football squad knock off Shelby by a tally of 39-12.

The Mountaineers (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Cox Mill (Concord, NC). The Chargers enter the non-league contest with a 1-0 record. In their last contest, Cox Mill gained a win over Charlotte Christian (Charlotte, NC), 20-8, in a non-league contest.
