In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting Hoover Vikings volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Hudson Explorers.

The Vikings (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Dover (Dover, OH). The Crimson Tornadoes enter the non-league challenge with a 0-0 record.

Next, the Explorers meet the Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs (Stow, OH) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, August 27. Hudson will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record.
