In Friday's non-league game, the Capistrano Valley Cougars (Mission Viejo, CA) football team beat the visiting Barstow Aztecs (Barstow, CA), by a final score of 41-21.

With the win, Capistrano Valley advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Cougars host Campo Verde (Gilbert, AZ) to encounter the Coyotes in a non-league bout on Friday, August 29. The Coyotes go into the bout with a record of 0-0.
