The Central Cabarrus Vikings edged the host Montgomery Central Timberwolves football team by a score of 16-11 in Friday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Vikings face the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans (Concord, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, August 29. Central Cabarrus will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Trojans come into the outing with a 1-0 record after their 24-17 non-league win over West Cabarrus (Concord, NC).

With the defeat, Montgomery Central drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Timberwolves travel to Anson (Wadesboro, NC) to clash with the Bearcats in a non-league outing on Friday, August 29. The Bearcats come into the outing with a record of 0-1. Anson lost 32-30 in their recent non-league outing against Red Springs (Red Springs, NC)
