Charlotte Catholic Cougars (Charlotte, NC) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC), 37-14 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Charlotte Catholic advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Cougars travel to Charlotte Christian (Charlotte, NC) to confront the Knights in a non-league match on Friday, August 29. The Knights come into the match with a record of 1-0. Charlotte Christian won 30-9 in their recent non-league match against Page (Greensboro, NC)

Coming up next, the Sabres confront the Community School of Davidson Spartans (Davidson, NC) in a non-league match, on Friday, August 29. South Mecklenburg will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record. The Spartans go into the battle with a 0-1 record after their 27-21 non-league loss to North Stanly (New London, NC).
