Clayton Comets (Clayton, NC) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the visiting Wilson Prep Tigers (Wilson, NC), 52-12 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Clayton improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Comets host Southern Nash (Bailey, NC) to play the Firebirds in a non-league battle on Friday, August 29. The Firebirds go into the battle with a record of 1-0. Southern Nash won 42-26 in their recent non-league battle against Knightdale (Knightdale, NC)

The Tigers now have a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Craven for a non-league match on Friday, August 29. Wilson Prep will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 7-0 non-league win over Havelock (Havelock, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 1-0.
