North Carolina High School Football - Lee County thwarted by Hunt
August 22, 2025: Wilson, NC 27893 Hunt Warriors (Wilson, NC) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC), 37-7 in a non-league battle.
With the win, Hunt upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Tarboro (Tarboro, NC) to meet the Vikings in a non-league match on Thursday, August 28. The Vikings come into the match with a record of 1-0. Tarboro won 20-16 in their recent non-league match against Rocky Mount (Rocky Mount, NC)
Coming up next, the Yellow Jackets play the Apex Friendship Patriots (Apex, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, August 29. Lee County will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record. The Patriots go into the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 9-7 non-league win over Broughton (Raleigh, NC).
