The McDowell Titans football squad scored 24 points and limited the visiting R-S Central Hilltoppers to 21 in the Titans non-league triumph on Friday.

The Titans now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mitchell for a non-league test on Friday, August 29. McDowell will clash with a Mountaineers squad coming off a 48-13 non-league loss to Charlotte Latin (Charlotte, NC). The Mountaineers record now stands at 0-1.

With the defeat, R-S Central drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Hilltoppers host North Henderson (Hendersonville, NC) to clash with the Knights in a non-league test on Friday, August 29. The Knights enter the outing with a record of 1-0. North Henderson won 35-7 in their recent non-league outing against Enka (Enka, NC)
