The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) and the visiting Pisgah Bears (Canton, NC), witnessed Mountain Heritage's football squad knock off Pisgah by a tally of 48-19.

The Cougars (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Erwin (Asheville, NC). The Warriors enter the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Erwin was outscored by West Henderson (Hendersonville, NC), 27-21, in a non-league contest.

Next up, the Bears encounter the Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, August 29. Pisgah will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record. The Maroon Devils go into the bout with a 1-0 record after their 21-6 non-league win over Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC).
