August 22, 2025: Pinetops, NC 27864 The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC) and the visiting Nash Central Bulldogs (Rocky Mount, NC), witnessed SouthWest Edgecombe's football squad knock off Nash Central by a tally of 13-5.
The Cougars (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Hertford County (Ahoskie, NC). The Bears go into the non-league bout with a 1-0 record. In their last bout, Hertford County overcame Gates County (Gatesville, NC), 26-22, in a non-league bout.
The Bulldogs now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Northern Nash for a non-league bout on Thursday, August 28. Nash Central will encounter a Knights team coming off a 26-20 non-league win over J.H. Rose (Greenville, NC). The Knights record now stands at 1-0.
