The Shiprock Chieftains football squad (Shiprock, NM), was routed 42-9 in Friday's non-league contest with the visiting Navajo Prep Eagles (Farmington, NM)

The Eagles (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM). The Bears go into the non-league battle with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, Wingate walloped Newcomb (Newcomb, NM), 26-20, in a non-league battle.

The Chieftains now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Moriarty for a non-league battle on Friday, August 29. Shiprock will confront a Pintos squad coming off a 42-21 non-league loss to Albuquerque Academy (Albuquerque, NM). The Pintos record now stands at 0-1.
