The Paul W. Bryant Stampede football team (Cottondale, AL), was topped 23-2 in Friday's non-league bout with the visiting Percy Julian Phoenix (Montgomery, AL)

The Phoenix (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Carver Montgomery (Montgomery, AL). The Wolverines enter the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Carver Montgomery was topped by Thompson (Alabaster, AL), 37-6, in a non-league battle.

The Stampede now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Minor for a non-league battle on Thursday, August 28. Paul W. Bryant will confront a Tigers squad coming off a 46-0 non-league win over Dora (Dora, AL). The Tigers record now stands at 1-0.
